Waynesville Altrusa
Make A Difference Day
The Waynesville Altrusa club celebrates Make A Difference Day each year with a service project. This year’s project was to send care packages to troops in Afghanistan.
It was a tremendous success. The club packed and shipped 41 boxes of snacks, toiletry items and socks to troops in Afghanistan. The son of an Altrusa club member is stationed in Afghanistan and the club sent the boxes to the 70-member battalion to be disbursed as needed.
Make A Difference Day Supply Drive for the Troops
Letter of Thanks from the unit who received the donations:
Altrusa Group,
On behalf of Naval Mobile Construction Battalion Seventy Four, I would like to say thank you for the "Support the Troops" boxes sent to us by your group. The boxes were distributed to our Morale, Welfare, and Recreation Lounge where the troops could go through them and utilize the much appriciated supplies. In an environment where supplies are difficult to aquire, they came as a great relief!
Again, I Thank You, and it is a pleasure to serve a country that is proud of what we do and makes the time away seem worth while.
